Join us for the Empower You Scotland Retreat!
August 18-23, 2018 in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland
Hosted at the Soul Sparkle Sanctuary Scotland
We invite you to join us for this beautiful experience in the fabulous city of Edinburgh, Scotland. We’ve crafted classes, events, and wonderful outings to illuminate your path to the future you envision.
Impactful daily yoga sessions, masterclasses, and a loving, supportive environment are the cornerstones of this retreat. From the moment you arrive in Edinburgh to the moment you leave, you will be cared for and supported. At the end of the retreat, you’re sure to feel loved, valued, worthy, and ready to step into your fabulous future.
Our mornings will begin with an intentional yoga practice followed by a full breakfast along with morning masterclass each day focused on self love and self care and on releasing the fears and blocks holding you back from realizing the life of your dreams. We fully intend for you to leave this experience with clarity on what you want to create, certainty that it is available to you, and with deep soul connection and sisterhood to support you on your journey.
You will have plenty of time to relax or take in the sights and sounds of Edinburgh. You can walk the cobblestone streets of Edinburgh's Old Town. Most of the city’s main sights can be found here, and together with New Town (the 18th-century central area of the capital city), it forms part of a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You can check out the shops, museums, galleries, cathedrals and street performers (bagpipers!) while strolling along the main thoroughfare. Called the Royal Mile, the busiest tourist street in Edinburgh runs from HolyRood Palace, one of the Queen’s royal residences, to Edinburgh Castle, which is situated atop the 430-foot tall Castle Rock overlooking the city.
Our activities together will include a trip to Edinburgh Castle:
Edinburgh Castle is a world famous icon of Scotland and part of the Old and New Towns of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. It was recently voted top UK Heritage Attraction in the British Travel Awards and is Scotland’s number one paid-for tourist attraction. This most famous of Scottish castles has a complex building history. The oldest part, St Margaret's Chapel, dates from the 12th century; the Great Hall was erected by James IV around 1510; the Half Moon Battery by the Regent Morton in the late 16th century; and the Scottish National War Memorial after the First World War. The castle houses the Honours (Crown Jewels) of Scotland, the Stone of Destiny, the famous 15th century gun Mons Meg, the One O' Clock Gun and the National War Museum of Scotland.
We will spend the middle of your day touring the Old Town of Edinburgh, in particular the area around Grassmarket, Cowgate, and Victoria Street. Technically, the Old Town also includes the Royal Mile. We will be going just one block south of the Royal Mile to explore the old cobblestoned streets and shops here and have lunch in the Old Town of Edinburgh.
Then we will head to the historic Grassmarket area to explore quirky shops, lively pubs and a number of seasonal craft fairs and festivals. The picturesque marketplace lies in a hollow, and is similar to the Royal Mile. We will make our way towards the east end until we reach George IV Bridge, and stop for a drink at the Elephant House. Perhaps one of the most renowned coffee and tea houses in all of Great Britain, it’s also known as the “birthplace of Harry Potter.”
Our day will end with a fabulous dinner at The Scran and Scallie. We will leave the Royal Mile behind and venture out to the neighborhood of Stockbridge. If you want to dine on traditional Scottish food cooked perfectly, this is the place! Items on the menu include roasted bone marrow, ox tongue, fish and steak pies, mashed potatoes, cabbage with bacon, and chocolate and whisky mousse. You will love this traditional Scottish experience!
